Is this really the end?

Image
This is the end of our two and a half years adventure around the world, and this blog. However, this is not the end of Dylan’s adventures.

Pouring in Pai

Image
Given that I’ve visited Vietnam, Laos and Thailand at the start of the rainy season, we’ve been quite lucky so far. That was until we arrived in Pai.

The Tale of the Two Chiangs

Image
A quick flight later and we’re in northern Thailand. Our first stop is Chiang Mai, with a visit to Chiang Rai.

Luang Prabang

Image
Our next stop in Laos was the charming and chilled city of Luang Prabang. The main thing to do here is literally just to wander around and sit in cafes all day.

Motorbikes, planes and horses

Image
After a flight to Luang Prabang and a night there, we travelled by bus, on the worst road I have ever been on, to Vang Vieng.

The Ha Giang Loop

Image
We’ve just spent four days sitting on the back of a motorbike, as we have been driven around the Ha Giang Loop, a famous motorbike loop in the northern mountains of Vietnam.

A brief visit to Hanoi

Image
Our final(ish) stop in Vietnam is Hanoi, where we had a brief explore of the city (again I have been here before), before our next big adventure begins.

Hot in Hoi An

Image
A first time trip to Hoi An for Dylan, the second time for me. I’ve returned here as I liked it so much the first time, but also to see my friend Sarah and her boyfriend James, who are here on their holidays.

Dylan Does Da Lat

Image
It’s Dylan’s first time in Vietnam, for me it’s my second time. I came here 9 years ago and have returned to fill in some gaps. The first gap to fill is the mountain city of Da Lat.

Big island life

Image
From a small island to a big one. It was time to visit our last stop in the Philippines, the island of Bohol.

Small island life

Image
I’ve reached the small island of Siquijor, where we spent our time driving around and exploring viewpoints and waterfalls.

Getting wet in Moalboal

Image
The next stop in the Philippines was Moalboal, a beach town where the main activity is go to canyoning.

Bananas and bamboo

Image
My next stop was El Nido, which is apparently one of the busiest tourist destinations in the Philippines. They weren’t wrong about that one!

Island hopping by letters

Image
After a night in an airport hotel, I arrived in Coron, where the main thing to do is go on island hopping tours.

Third time is the charm for Australia

Image
After leaving New Zealand, I went back to Australia for the third time for three reasons: to see me friend Maddie, my friend Alex, and to catch a flight to the Philippines.

Working hard in New Zealand

Image
This post covers my working holiday in New Zealand, although in a very condensed way.

I would walk 500 miles, then I would walk 500 more (and then another 283)

Image
In case you missed it, following our initial travels, Dylan and I walked across the UK from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

Look who’s back

Image
Following a series events, which the next few blog posts get into, Dylan is back on his travels for a short period. Therefore, it made sense to resurrect the blog.

Dylan’s Next Adventure

Image
On Thursday 21st March, Dylan and I will begin our journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats, on foot.

The End

Image
419 days. 25 countries. 6 continents. 142 blog posts. 1 Dylan the Dragon.

Ending how we began

Image
It feels like we’ve gone full circle. We started this trip in a relaxing way, lying on the beaches of Fiji while throwing in some snorkelling now and again. We’re ending this trip in the same way, chilling by the sea, with a snorkelling trip to a big blue hole.

Bazaar experiences in Cairo

Image
We are now back in Cairo, exploring the main sights around the capital city.

Temples, temples, temples, temples, temples and temples

Image
Being in Egypt means lots of temples, and I mean a lot. Over the last two days we’ve been in Luxor, to visit six temples.

Dylan on the Nile

Image
We’ve arrived in Aswan, where we have explored temples and took a trip down the river Nile.

Pyramids

Image
We’ve kicked off our tour of Egypt with arguably the biggest sight there is to see, the Great Pyramids.
