Big island life
From a small island to a big one. It was time to visit our last stop in the Philippines, the island of Bohol.
The ferry over to Bohol was fairly simple, compared to other island crossings I’ve made. I arrived around lunchtime, and just decided to chill out in my room for the remainder of the day.
The next day, I grabbed a motorbike and started touring the island. The first stop was a cathedral.
The next stop was two bamboo bridges, known as the hanging bridges. We crossed one to the other side, and then back again on the other.
As we continued our journey up to the middle of the island along winding roads, there were some very pretty trees.
Some miles later, we arrived at the main attraction in Bohol, the Chocolate Hills. These natural hills cover an expansive area and create a fantastic view as far as the eye can see.
The long journey back to my accommodation involved a very heavy downpour, soaking me right through. It was pretty miserable for the rest of the day, so I stayed inside.
The next morning, I headed to the tarsier sanctuary. These cute little animals have giant eyeballs.
Finally, I went to a nearby cave, which was in a very random location just in the middle of town, accessible via a small hole.
With that, our time in the Philippines has come to an end. The Filipino’s are the friendliest people I’ve ever met, but sadly, I didn’t find the country that all exciting. Next stop, Vietnam.
