Getting wet in Moalboal
The next stop in the Philippines was Moalboal, a beach town where the main activity is go to canyoning.
Sadly, Dylan isn’t featured in this one as I didn’t want him getting wet (and I forgot to take him to the beach area twice 🤦♂️).
I spent the morning on a public bus from Cebu, which wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. On arrival in Moalboal, I spent the afternoon exploring the beach area, but there isn’t really a beach as such there.
The hostel I stayed at was really lovely, but sadly didn’t have a social vibe to it. My time here was definitely going to be chilled.
The next day featured the main activity, canyoning. To get to the canyon, you need to ride a 1km long zip wire, which I chose to do in the superman position. Very fun.
After that, it was time to wade through the canyon, via walking, slides and jumps.
I chilled that evening, being very tired from an active day. I also spent the next day chilling in the hostel and by the beach, as there wasn’t much else to do. No matter.
The following day, we left Moalboal on an epic 8 hour journey, which featured no less than 2 tricycle rides, 2 backseat motorbike rides, 1 bus and 2 ferries. It all went rather smoothly and we arrived in our next stop, Siquijor, at a decent time in the afternoon.
