The End

419 days. 25 countries. 6 continents. 142 blog posts. 1 Dylan the Dragon.

We’ve just flown back to the UK from Egypt, and this time it’s for good. No second or third rounds of travel, no more plans, just the cold and grey UK.

There was a couple of signs today that maybe I shouldn’t have come home, my bag got lost in Heathrow but thankfully eventually turned up two hours later, and then there were train cancellations all up the west coast from London but I eventually got on a train.

This adventure was everything I hoped it would be, but I feel like now is a good time to bring it to an end. It feels like an achievement to have travelled for so long, to have seen so much, to have learned so much, and with little going wrong.

My main achievement though is managing to keep hold of Dylan for all this time. He’s been to 25 countries, and here’s his last reel:

Fiji

New Zealand

Australia

Indonesia

Singapore

Malaysia

Turkey

Germany

Netherlands

Ireland

Canada

United States

Columbia

Ecuador

Peru

Bolivia

Chile

Argentina

Uruguay

Paraguay

Brazil

Hungary

Slovakia

Poland

Egypt

What’s next then? There’s no rest as I’m off to Gloucester right now for a wedding this weekend, then I’ll be going to London next week.

However, there is another adventure coming very soon.

On 21st March, I’ll be setting out from Land’s End with my backpack and walking over 1,200 miles for three months to John O’Groats. I’ll be doing this for charity in aid of Samaritans. Of course, Dylan will be joining me on this new adventure.

Over the next week, I’ll be setting up a new blog to record the walk. I’ll pop a link on here when it’s ready.

Thanks for following Dylan’s adventures over the last 419 days, and I hope you’ll follow our next one. Dylan out.
