Underwhelming Uruguay
We’ve done our five days in Uruguay, one of the blandest countries I’ve been to. It also doesn’t help that it’s incredibly expensive.
We started our time in Uruguay in Colonia, which we travelled to by ferry from Buenos Aires. Colonia is a beautiful little port town, with charming buildings and a lighthouse.
We spent the afternoon and the next day just roaming Colonia’s cobbled streets and trying to find the cheapest places to eat.
We then headed onto Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. Montevideo doesn’t really have much going on, with a big issue with homelessness.
We did however come at a good time as there was a city music festival on, which made the first evening a lot more fun.
We also headed to a museum dedicated to the Uruguayan rugby team who crashed landed in the Andes in 1972. They resulted to eating the dead to survive until they were rescued.
We’re now heading back to Buenos Aires, as it’s one of the best cities in the world, to continue our journey into Paraguay in a few days time.
