Buenos Aires Round 2
We’re back in Buenos Aires, an unplanned but very welcome visit back to one of the best cities in the world. That means we are also back in Argentina for the fourth time!
Due to the financial crisis that Argentina is going through, one of the positives is that it keeps getting cheaper for us to visit. The exchange rate has got much worse/better even since we were last here a week ago. There’s plenty of cheap accommodation also, which I took advantage of and booked an Airbnb for a couple of nights, and then chilled for a couple of days. I was kind of productive through, booking the reminder of my travels until the start of March (more on this soon), plus watching the new movie (called Society in the Snow) on Netflix about the Andes plane crash (the one we went to the museum of in Montevideo).
The following day, we went to an ecology park, which is basically a zoo, and a Japanese garden.
We headed back via the town of Colonia in Uruguay, taking the ferry across the river.
After being lazy, it was time to get out and about, as we headed on a tour of the city centre itself, looking at the more historical buildings in Buenos Aires.
That evening, we went to a show which I can’t quite describe. Maybe just look at the photos and videos below. It was called Fuerza Bruta and I believe it’s coming to London in the summer. Worth checking out if you can. It’s genuinely one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
For our final day in Buenos Aires (and yes this time this is it), we walked around the marina and nature reserve.
We are now heading on a night bus to Paraguay, where we will spend three nights in its capital, Asuncion.
