Chilly in Chile

We’re across the border into Chile, and we’ve had a week in the Atacama Desert, hot in the day, but very cold at night.

As soon as we entered the border, we set up camp in an abandoned mining town. It was great fun, but very cold, so we lit a fire and had marshmallows.

After a freezing night in the tent, we made our way into the Atacama Desert, on our way to San Pedro.

We spent the next couple of days in San Pedro, which felt like a bit of Western town in a desert. We camped in a dark sky reserve (no photos as I didn’t take any), which was very beautiful when it got dark.

After San Pedro, we were basically on the road to the capital of Chile, Santiago. Our first night on the route was a wild camp.

Next up, we headed to a seaside resort at the edge of Pan de Azucar national park.

Finally, we headed to the small town of Guanaqueros for our final night before we headed to Santiago.
