Penang
We’ve spent the last few days in George Town, Penang, a pretty old town with lots of charming features.
We didn’t do much on the first afternoon in Penang, mainly just chilling the hostel and then playing some bingo. The bingo was a bit relentless, in that you kept winning on a line until someone got a house. The prizes were shots too, which didn’t go down particularly well.
There’s a shot leaderboard at the hostel by country, but I decided Wales needed to be separated from the UK. I didn’t attempt to draw the flag though.
The next day we did some sightseeing around George Town, featuring street art, an old fire station, and a floating jetty.
The next day, we climbed Penang hill. I don’t think I have ever sweated so much in my life. In hindsight, it wasn’t the greatest idea to do a hike in 32 degree heat.
After getting back to the hostel and rehydrating myself, it was trivia night, which my team won!
Onwards to our final stop in Malaysia, Langkawi, an island which I’m told is a tax haven.
