Gold Coastin’

Not much to report from our time in Surfer’s Paradise in the Gold Coast. A lot of backpackers miss this stop as it’s not seen as a must do, but it’s really great for just relaxing and reenergising before taking on the next place.

This place reminds me of Miami in Florida, there’s even a beach called Miami Beach. It’s basically just the beach, hotels and restaurants, so not a huge amount to do here.

We spent our time just walking and cycling up and down the coastline and enjoying the beach itself.

We also went up the largest building here, taller than the Eiffel Tower, and had some pretty epic views of the Gold Coast.

The hostel was pretty rowdy, but very fun. We played some weird bingo where you had to be the first person to find others that could complete all of the tasks on your sheet. For the girl who won, I quite confidently told her I could down a can of beer in 3 seconds, which I then had to prove. I was impressed that I managed it.

There was also some free sangria and cheese to watch the sunset. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful up the east coast. I haven’t managed to catch a sunrise yet though, mainly from laziness.

We couldn’t forget to have an Easter egg too!

And we’ve just arrived in Brisbane, or Brisvegas as the bus driver put it. I’m really not sure what that means!
