Lazy days
The travelling pace has somewhat slowed down the last week, which has been good after a hectic few weeks.
Following the Milford Track, we went to see some glow worms in a cave in Te Anau while riding a boat in the dark. It was pretty cool, but photos weren’t allowed, so here’s a photo of some glow worms I took a few days prior on the Milford Track.
After that it was time to head back to Queenstown for the night, where I couldn’t resist another night out. Following a very early wake up call, it was time to get on the bus to Tekapo.
Tekapo is a very quiet town, too quiet. While it was nice to chill, I did find it hard to sit still. We did manage to get out and about, Dylan made friends with a cat and a dog, I played disc golf, went to some hot springs and watched the night sky. Tekapo is in a dark sky reserve, meaning that on a clear night, the sky is very impressive. We went on a sky gazing tour, where we explored the Milky Way from the top of a mountain. Sadly no photos allowed again as it apparently messes with the telescopes up there, but I did get some photos outside the hostel from the previous night.
Punting in Christchurch? Botanic Gardens are a nice walk by the river as well. Can’t comment on good beer places as Christchurch is always in a state of flux!
ReplyDeleteBeen to the botanic gardens. Might have a look at the punting. Been to a couple of the food and drink warehouse places. Not bad beer there!
