G’day mate

Do you come from a land down under? Yes, I do now.

We have landed safely in Melbourne and have yet to come across any spiders, snakes or crocodiles. I did check under the bed to ensure I was safe before going to sleep.

The late night journey into Melbourne didn’t come without its issues sadly. My passport has stopped scanning (they think my photo page is too creased) so I had to answer lots of questions from an immigration officer. Getting a ticket for the bus from the airport was harder than it should have been due to all the ticket kiosks running out of paper. And finally, I booked a night next to the bus station is what turned out to be a dump!

Fortunately, I only had one night here to then move to a more sophisticated hostel for the next four nights. I also haven’t had a shower yet, because as you can see above, yeah.

While waiting for check in, Dylan and I are looking over the city map to see what we can do on a wet day in Melbourne. It turns out quite a lot!

I have also just found out the hostel I’m staying at now is alcohol free. I have heard of such places from other travellers, but now I find myself in one. How will I cope! Find out in a few days.
