Wellington (Part 2)

It’s probably not the best time to joke about the wind in Wellington as poor New Zealand is about to get battered again, this time with a cyclone (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-64608532). Fortunately, luck should be on my side once more as I move to the South Island and escape whatever the cyclone brings. Here’s hoping New Zealand manages to escape with little damage this time round.

But that’s it for Wellington. Me and Dylan went mountain biking up in the hills above Wellington. The bike hire shop convinced me to try out an electric bike which I’ve never done before. What a game changer! We had fun riding across the Wellington skyline hills ending up at some mountain bike trails. I only fell off once with just a little bruise on my knee.

Otherwise, it’s just been great walking around and exploring this great city, mainly the pubs and bars. We also took a bit of a cultural trip to the museum of New Zealand.

That’s it for New Zealand’s North Island though, and what a way to end, in the pub watching the Six Nations at 3am. Sadly, I had to depart half way through the Wales and Scotland game to catch my ferry to the South Island, but I was treated to some fantastic views!

The 6 week South Island adventure kicks off in Nelson!
