The journey begins

This is it! The start of the adventure. I’m now on a train from Prestatyn to London. As you can see, Dylan is enjoying the view of The Wirral.

Everything went well with the sale of the house and I completed the sale on Monday. Before that though, everything had to go into storage. So here’s a lovely photo of a lockup with all of my belongings in. I would have preferred to put all my stuff into my mum’s garage, but she selfishly had it converted into a room a couple of months back (it does look nice though).

Of course, not everything is in the lockup, with a select few items travelling on my back (and also another smaller bag on my front which is on the floor next to me). I reckon I have definitely packed too much, that’s the issue with having such a large backpack, you just tend to fill it up because you can. I’ll just donate stuff as I go if I find I’m not using them.

I’ve just left the ‘Walkers are Welcome’ town of Prestatyn (it’s only because we have the Offa’s Dyke Path start/end point that they call it that, that and Carol Vorderman are our claims to fame).

The flight from Heathrow is tomorrow afternoon, but I am going to London today to say a couple more goodbyes before I go. Then it’s across London to Heathrow tomorrow morning and the journey properly begins!
