Adventures in Auckland
Auckland is a strange place. I was warned by the people on the internet and actual people not to spend too much time here as there is bugger all to do. It was in fact, alright. I did some exploring, took a trip on a ferry to Rangitoto Island, a dormant volcano (clearly missing those Fiji islands!), and of course, had some NZ craft beers.
The hostel I stayed in was also a bit weird. There is literally no atmosphere, kind of a blessing after a very social Fiji, Auckland has given me time to recharge my social batteries. I’ve had the hottest night sleeps I have ever had in my life. I’ve even bought some rehydration tablets because of how I have been feeling in the morning. GIVE ME AIRCON!
It’s on to Paihai next, where the Bay of Islands are (yes more islands, not quite ready to give them up yet).
Auckland looks pretty beautiful even if there's nothing to do there but drink craft beer and rehydration tablets.
ReplyDeleteGood work on the craft beer.
ReplyDeleteBoth drinks very tasty and nutritious.
